Abstract: This second annual survey was conducted (the first was in 2002) to document the activities of all known Canadian telepsychiatry programs according to types and volume of services offered, technology used, and funding sources. It will assist jurisdictions and organizations with planning and monitoring telepsychiatry services. Findings were presented as a poster presentation at the Canadian Society of Telehealth annual meeting in Halifax, and a presentation made to the Canadian Psychiatric Association annual meeting, also in Halifax, October 2003. Results of the 2002 survey are in press with the Journal of Telehealth and Telecare. This program will be evaluated by in-house personnel and outside consultants for clinical effectiveness, clinician satisfaction, cost effectiveness, educational effectiveness, equipment performance, health outcomes, patient referral patterns, patient satisfaction, and patient utilization.
