Abstract: In 1994 W. K. Kellogg Foundation funded this grant to ITC to foster health care systems that include family-centered, community-based services, involve collaboration among multiple sectors, and engage institutions as partners. It emphasizes holistic health education and prevention based on Native American health values, spiritual, emotional and intellectual wellness in addition to physical health. Family Resource Specialists, indigenous to the participating Tribe, seeks to provide services which are pertinent to identified community needs. The staff works in collaboration with the seven tribes and local health and human service agencies. Technical assistance is provided via ITC.
