Abstract: This project, jointly sponsored by the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) and the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), will establish analytical and modeling databases derived from statistical matches of the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) and the Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP). The resulting analytical database also will be useful for analysis of interrelationships between health status and health care use, socioeconomic factors, and a range of income and program participation data from SIPP. The linked database will support sophisticated analyses to help in understanding the interrelationships between health and human services variables. It will also support policy analyses through the analysis of potential changes in programs through microsimulation modeling and other analytical techniques.
